ELCA Pastor

As an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), I have a variety of “jobs”.

Currently, I am serving at Calvary Lutheran Church in Two Rivers, WI.  Some of the things I do at Calvary are:

  • Lead weekly worships (including preaching, and you can see my sermons by clicking here)
  • Teach youth and adults
  • Pray with and for people
  • Meet with people – listening to their concerns, helping them discern the next steps for their lives, celebrating their joyous occasions, grieving their losses, and so on
  • Post prayers on Calvary’s Facebook page
  • Post prayers on my own Facebook page

Currently, I am serving within the East Central Synod of Wisconsin of the ELCA.  A Synod is a geographical unit, and the ECSW is along the shore of Lake Michigan from Door County to Manitowoc County, and it extends westward to the center of the state.  Some of the things I do within the Synod are:

  • Serve on the Coordinating Team of the Eastern Lay School of Ministry and sometimes teach classes
  • Participate in the annual Synod Assembly – where we worship together and study the Bible together, where we discuss the needs of our local and world-wide communities, where we learn from one another and care for one another, and where we celebrate the ministry that happens across the country and around the world
